Shein rose bell sleeve dress
F21 sandals
bag- gift from El Salvador

Whenever I have free time I love strolling around my city and exploring all the hidden gems LBC has to offer. Back in the day I used to live around this neighborhood and I remember walking by these super cute Spanish style pink apartments and thinking how picture-worthy they were haha! FYI I believe this is where they also shot a scene from the movie La La Land, which I still have yet to see!

Well anyways I finally got a chance to do a mini photoshoot inside this dreamy apartment complex. I wore this cute dress and it just fit perfectly with the whole scene, along with this authentic bag my mom just brought me from El Salvador,  I loooove it! I usually shy away from oversized florals for spring but I couldn't pass up this black shift dress with cute embroidered rose details, I'm also currently into bell sleeves so I was sold when I saw this dress. What do you guys think of this look?

BTW can't wait for the weekend, I'm hoping to go on another mini day trip somewhere...maybe Pasadena it's been a while!

Arte Rustico

♫ Santigold- Chasing Shadows ♫

This past weekend we drove to Riverside to meet up with friends and we stumbled upon this cool Mexican food joint called: Tio's Tacos  , which is known for it's eclectic/rustic/recycled art and sculptures throughout the restaurant. I, of course, loved this place and all the bizarre sculptures made of recycled plastic bottles, tin cans, lids, old wheels, metal, and other rusty scraps.  I love random gems like these, it makes me appreciate art even more especially since it was obvious that creativity and hard work was put into it.
Although I did not try the food I did try their coconut horchata which was delicious! I'm definitely hoping to go back, I loved getting lost in the itty bitty artsy details displayed throughout the restaurant. I loved the atmosphere, the art, and the overall vibes here so hopefully I come back sooner than later. Have you guys ever been?

Taste of DTLB

♫ Lizzy Mercier Descloux- No Golden Throat ♫

Wearing:

Heavenly Couture linen jacket
H&M leggings and tee
Old Navy black tote bag
Superga shoes

Taste of Downtown Long Beach is one of my favorite events in the city. It pretty much is a public event held around the downtown area, and this time it was held at one of my favorite spots in the city which is the East Village Arts District. This is my go-to hang out area where all my favorite cafes, restaurants, shops, and fave record store is.

Taste of DTLB has gotten pretty popular over the years and I love how all the restaurants/cafes within the area set up booths outside and you can pretty much walk around and taste all the different food and drinks from these restaurants. It was great because this time other participating businesses set up booths too, so besides food they were also selling t-shirts, tote bags, chocolate, vintage accessories, and a little bit of everything else...so it kinda felt like a farmer's market if you will.  It's great because although I haven't tried all the spots in the city this event gives people the opportunity to try a bit of everything from all the surrounding restaurants and local businesses in the neighborhood.

Ended up buying this super cute gold circle hair barrette at Anneise, love it!

My sis got one too, she got the pearl shell barrette!

Spring Equinox

Hey guys!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Yay can you guys believe it's officially spring! :)
I took a mini road trip this past weekend with my sister and nephew to the California Poppy Reserve in Antelope Valley to check out the "super bloom"...thanks to the rain!

I had to check it out for myself this year since it's been on my bucket list for a while but the drought last year didn't really motivate me to go...anyways I'm so glad we made it. The golden poppies were scattered all over the hills,  and there's still so much blooming left which goes on until late March to early April and I'm tempted to go back there or Lake Elsinore!

From a distance, the hills covered with golden poppies resembled a watercolor masterpiece and the hazy sky just made it so much better! It was super windy with a good 80 degrees in the valley but the warm breeze and the sun peeking through the clouds made it feel like the perfect spring day! It felt so refreshing venturing on the trails of the poppy reserve, although I didn't wear appropriate hiking gear that still didn't stop me from walking a few miles and taking in the amazing view, all while being surrounded by California poppies!

If you guys get a chance go check out the super bloom before the season is over, it's well worth it! :)
