The West is the Best

♫ Fleetwood Mac- Gypsy ♫

Last weekend my friend, Jackie, and I ventured out to the desert. It felt great going back to Yucca Valley and Joshua tree even if it was only for a day. I love everything about the desert from the beautiful earth tones, the nature, the stillness, the landscapes, and the wide open space! It's no wonder I missed it so much! I realized I rarely ventured out to the desert last year and it's where I always feel at ease, no worries, no stress.....just stillness and nature all around me...nothing better than that.

After Cal Earth we drove to Pioneertown, which sits right between Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree. They used to film old western films back in the day there and now it's just a cool tourist desert stop with general stores, thrift shops, a saloon, bars, a motel, a restaurant, and a pottery store. It's a MUST stop when you're around this area, you automatically feel like you're in an old western film from the 20's or 30's! There's even a farm with chickens and horses nearby....gotta love it lol :)

We also stumbled upon this cute shop in Yucca Valley: Wind Moon

Absolutely loved it!

They carried everything from vintage to apothecary!

I'm all about natural body oils and found a sandalwood + rose oil that smelled oh so heavenly!

Walking into the sunset like...

Oven stone pizza yummyness!

Can't get enough of this place.
