Lavender Fields

♫ Melaena Cadiz- The Shape of Things ♫

Hey lovelies!

Happy Friday!

Here are a couple snaps from last weekend's outing to the Lavender Festival in Yucaipa! This was my 2nd year attending and it was just as great as the first time. I have to admit I was waiting all year for this event, I loved it that much lol. The lavender festival is a perfect intro to summer, as I've mentioned before I'm a huge fan of lavender-anything so it was definitely worth a visit.

Anyways, the best part was trying the lavender ice cream (I finally got to try it this time since they sold out last year :( I tried both the chocolate and honey lavender flavors and it was sooo yummy to say the least :P

I also got to try the lavender iced tea and lavender lemonade, which I eventually mixed together into an Arnold Palmer haha. Overall the weather was great, loved the vibes, and the sunset was magical. The lavender bushes weren't completely in full bloom yet until mid to late June so I'm hoping to go back again, I mean it's def worth checking out!

Have you guys been before?

Mariposa Alley

♫ Broods- Peach ♫

A couple weekends ago I got to check out the Mariposa Alley, I'm always down to check out street art or art installations anywhere so after I heard about this art installation located in a random alley in Riverside I knew I had to see it for myself haha  :)

If you guys don't know about Tio's Tacos in Riverside, they're known for their eclectic recycled art installations throughout the inside and outside of the restaurant. I swear it's a one-of-a-kind Mexican restaurant! Anyways Martin Sanchez, who's the owner of Tio's Tacos, created the Mariposa Alley installation, which is near the restaurant too. If you find yourself in Riverside, I totally recommend checking out the Mariposa Alley, it makes for great Instagram pictures, and I feel like it brings out more color and joy to the city... you will feel the spring vibes for sure!

Sequoia Trip

♫ Bayonne- Falls ♫

This past weekend I went to Sequoia National Park with my family for Mother's Day, we were all first timers and we all ended up loving it! We even saw some snow on the way to Kings Canyon! I was definitely excited since it's been like two years since I've seen snow :D

Overall the weather was perfect, it was in the low 50s with a combination of light drizzle, sunshine, and of course some snow. It felt so nice being surrounded by nature again, missed it so much! We even hiked around 4-5 miles thinking that it might rain and hail that whole time but thankfully it never did haha. There's nothing better than road trips with good company surrounded by nature. I'm already looking forward to my next weekend getaway, hopefully to Redwood National Forest!

Have you guys visited Sequoia yet? I highly recommend visiting, it's a MUST see place, we saw some of the biggest trees ever including, The General Sherman tree, which is the largest tree in the world also with the biggest volume (tree trunk) it was simply amazing to see it in person. This place is filled with so much mystery and wonder, you must add it to your bucket list if you haven't yet!

Mom loving the hike :)
